News report: Hospital gift of formula fading away

Writing in The Eugene Register-Guard, Tim Christie reports that a growing number of Oregon hospitals are banning formula marketing bags. He quotes Nancy Wight, past president of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, who summarizes the effect of commercial marketing in hospitals:

There is very good evidence that these marketing bags are extremely effective at doing two things: Reducing the rate of exclusive breast-feeding and making sure, if a mother choose to switch to formula, that she chooses the brand the hospital gave her.
