Nice
try.
But if the hospital bags weren't doing their job of influncing mothers
to use formula, then believe me, the formula companies would stop
giving them away.
The fact is that these formula give-aways do influence peoples' choices
as all advertising does.
And this influence is trickling down to the smallest and most helpless
among us.

By
having hospitals give the free bags, there is tacit approval for
formula-feeding, even though the mothers may be intending to
breastfeed. And when the mom (surrounded by misinformation and
formula-feeding pressure, "Are you sure he's getting enough?" etc.
comments, tries formula and sabotages her breastfeeding relationship
unintentionally, not only do you HOOK A CUSTOMER, but the formula
companies also have another woman who will feel guilty, judged, and
angry towards breastfeeding because she 'failed' at it - when instead,
she was sabotaged. It's very sly of formula companies to take advantage
of women who are in such a vulnerable position like that.

No,
most women don't decide whether or not to breastfeed based on a bag. At
least not initially. But you damn well know what they do to insecure
new moms who are struggling with breastfeeding. People like you hand
them a bag and encourage them to give up the second they have to put
any effort into their baby. I should know because I was surrounded by
people like you when I had my first daughter. You succeeded because I
failed. Thank God above I had more sense and confidence with my second
daughter, who's still nursing at 2 years old. You should be ashamed of
yourself.
